The thought of aging usually starts to creep in the moment a person reaches their midlife point. The thought becomes just a little bit more nagging when the body begins to send us little subtle messages. These messages may be when you look in the mirror and the person staring back at you isn't as pleasing anymore; or maybe when you wake up in the morning with a little bit more aches and pains here and there.

The thing is, aging doesn't have to be a burden. One can probably look at it as another door being opened to lead us into another place and another adventure. And certainly the effects of aging can be mitigated by doing some things right like leading a healthy lifestyle, getting more involved in your community, joining clubs, exercising, and dieting. One of the recent diet plans that many consider as being beneficial to aging is the pH diet plan.
Continue reading "Aging Gracefully By Understanding Your Body's pH"

Do you find that you are easily forgetful now that you're in your midlife? As the body begins to wear down, this is not uncommon. Although sometimes being forgetful can be trivial, people in their midlives should be mindful that the condition does not continue to get worse.

Nowadays, professionals are working to determine the benefits of a regular exercise regimen in improving cognition and reducing normal memory loss. This is so that they can better determine what specific exercises can be prescribed to improve memory. In the meantime, we don't have to reminded that physical activity does reduce stress which may be a contributor to cognitive malfunction. And those who are suffering some form of stress that's a result of being in a state of midlife crisis, exercise can certainly help in alleviating the cause of your forgetfulness.
Continue reading "Exercise Helps Boost Memory"

Almost everyone's probably heard of diet regimens that were named after their discoverers, for example the <INSERT NAME HERE> Diet Plan. The problem with some of these diets is that there are too many requirements and conditions that the dieter has to fulfill before any significant results can be obtained.

So how about a diet plan that provides consisitent benefits for as long as you take it? It doesn't require that you take a particular type of meal in the morning, another at lunch time and probably nothing in the evening. I call it the Green Tea Diet Plan. It's a humble little plan that doesn't require attaching the name of its discoverer to it. In fact its discoverer probably wouldn't want her name attached at all but her reputation is revered. We know her better as "Mother Nature".
Continue reading "The Green Tea Diet Plan"

Consider the various sources of stress that affect us everyday--amount of work, unreasonable employer, traffic, pollution, maybe even unruly children at home. The list may go on and on. It wears you down, and makes you look years older than you are. It's a reality where sadly, there really is no escape.

On the positive side, there are many ways to alleviate stress. Among these are proper nutrition, getting enough rest, exercise and supplement all these with daily intake of multivitamins.
Continue reading "Multivitamins--Essential And Beneficial To Relieving Stress"

How many of us have been on a diet at one time or another? Celebrities peddle their diet plans on TV as if it were some magic pill that you could take to shed the unwanted pounds and stay healthy. To be able to stay healthy, one must have the desire, and when you have the desire you need to take some action. But before you can take action, there are some things that need to be straightened out.

Some people think that dieting alone is enough to keep you healthy. It may work for some who have a kind of unique physiology but they are the exception rather than the rule. For the rest of us, it's a matter of dieting plus exercising.
Continue reading "Dieting Is Always A Happy Compromise"
